When you make payments online, make sure the security level on your computer is sufficiently high. Update the software. Keep your software updated to ensure that the operating system, important programs, anti virus programs and firewalls work as well as possible.

Never give out your passwords to anyone, and try to change them often. Choose passwords that are difficult to guess (avoid obvious passwords like your name, your birth date or phone number). Choose a password that contains both numbers, small and capital letters.

Keep track of your transactions. Just as you take care of receipts in the real world, you should keep a record of all transactions you make on the Internet, including the dealer's contact information and URL (Web address).

Watch out for unauthorized e-mails or websites that ask you to provide information such as PIN. You should never disclose information of this type unless your bank has given you clear instructions that it is in order. You must not accept such instructions via the Internet (e-mail messages, etc.), then they can be false.

Make sure you are on the correct side when you are prompted to enter your payment information. Please check the URL and if there is a padlock on the page. By clicking on the padlock you can find more information about the owner of the certificate. If you are unsure, please contact the owner of the site and find out what to look for.
